Payment must accompany all ads! Payment for ads should be made in US dollars and checks / MO's payable to "Blackened Distribution." Paypal and credit card options available too. Because or printers require payment up front, we also require payment up front for all ads. NOTE: Our printers require payment in advance to ensure cheapest prices, therefore we avoid trading for ad space.

NOTE: if you want to send your ad via email or CDR, please sure it is at least 300 dpi. We can accept files in the following formats: .TIFF, .PSD, .JPG, .EPS and .PDF formats

AD DEADLINES FOR 2008:

• Profane Existence #58 (October-December 2008 issue) = August 15th

It is strongly recommend that you reserve space in advance of the deadline.

COMPILATION CD:

We plan to include a free compilation CD with each new issue of Profane Existence. This will feature songs from the bands interviewed in in the issue, an "unsigned" band demo track section, plus additional space available for other records labels and bands willing to help cover the costs. (substantial discounts available to advertisers - see below). You will receive one free sample copy of the magazine per label or band.

FEE SCHEDULE:

STANDARD SUBMISSION:
Record label / Band standard rate = $1 per minue. Minimum track submission is $90 for 3 minutes. Additional minutes (or fractions thereof) are $30.

ADVERTISER DISCOUNT:
Discounts on track submission are given to display advertisers. See the chart above for discount track submission prices. Discounts are only applied to the first 3 minues of audio. Standard $30 per minute rates apply thereafter.

Formats for song submission: Please send song on a CD as a standard CD audio track (one we can play on any CD player). We will not accept songs on DAT tapes, cassettes, reel to reels, or as MP3 files. Our CD replicator also requires written permission (a copyright holder's "Grant of Rights") for us to include the track on the CD for Profane Existence Magazine. This must include band/artist name, song title, and contact information.

Do not forget to send your lyrics and contact info to be published in the magazine!

Deadline for song submission and payment is the same as the ad deadline. The CD will be constructed on a first-come, first serve basis, so get your songs in early to ensure inclusion. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND RESERVING YOUR SPACE IN ADVANCE!

PE reserves the right to limit the amount of songs or refuse any song at our discretion (hint: no racist, sexist, homophobic or other bullshit will be accepted).

REVIEW POLICY:

Our seasoned review staff makes every attempt to review everything sent to us, but we still reject about 10% of material because it may fall outside the realm of coverage. We also won't review any racist, sexist or homophobic materials nor major label (or major label backed) releases.

Do not wait until the ad deadline to send in review materials! By the time the ad deadline comes around, we're already done with most of the magazine content! Stuff sent too close to the final print date will be held until the next issue for review.

We do not review stuff sent in trade to Profane Existence Distribution - you must send areview copy in order to be reviewed in the magazine.

As long as you provide a mailng address we will send a copy of the finished magazine with your review. Please consider purchasing an ad or a subscription to help cover the cost of reviewing your materials!

SUBMISSIONS FOR PROFANE EXISTENCE:

"Before you can get off your knees, you gotta get off your ass!"

This magazine serves to document and aid the world-wide anarcho-punk movement. In order to have the most complete, international, and up to the minute coverage, we need help from contributors around the world like you!

SCENE REPORTS: We encourage people to write reports about what's going on with the political and punk movement in their area. Please be as detailed as possible and provide addresses for bands, zines and other cool DIY punk happenings (venues, stores, mailorders, labels, etc.) We would also like some information on political activities punks are involved in. Don't forget to send photos!!!

NEWS: We have now combined our news and protest sections into one, all-covering area. Send us information about the group which you are involved with: We are looking for information about squats, gig collectives, free spaces, action groups, etc. which relate to the subjects covered in PE. We are also interested in over-all coverage of the events in your area and up to the minute news of resistance against fascism and all forms of oppression.

LETTERS: We regularly print letters from our readers and welcome all feedback on anything printed in this magazine or otherwise important to the anarchist punk movement or the greater struggle against tyranny.

OPINION PIECES: After being absent from several issue of Profane Existence, the opinion columns section has been reinstated. Aside from periodic editorials from the P.E. staff and columnists, this section is open for general contributions of a nature relavent to the content of this magazine. In particular, we are looking for well-written, in-depth, and researched pieces for this section that concern current issues and events.

FEATURE ARTICLES: We will print well-written articles of a social or political nature that may not fall into our regular sections. All articles are welcome, but we will only print ones which we feel are most pertinent to the readers of PE.

FUCKING ALTERNATIVE - FUCKING PUNK ROCK: Articles and ideas for the “how to” section of Profane Existence Magazine are welcome. Please see this section for submission guidelines.

FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE: The long-running feature on births / deaths in our movement is reinstated. Send your announcement or memorial with a photo! Don't forget to post it on the message board too!
