On May 1, 2008, Profane Existence will become the punk world's first member-supported independent media cooperative. The long-active, worker-run media organization (formed in 1989) made the decision to become a member-supported cooperative in response to overwhelming encouragement from friends and supporters. The move will help Profane Existence strengthen their internet presence as well as expand their community outreach and solidarity programs. In addition to higher quality services in general, members will also enjoy such perks as a free subscription to Profane Existence's quarterly magazine, a generous discount in the PE Distro web store and more.

Membership levels and BENEFITS

Memberships for Profane Existence supporters are split up into five different levels, each designed to accomodated different budgets and purposes. The first three are designed for individuals or familes, while the fourth is designed specifically for wholesale customers of Profane Existence Distribution. The final level is Lifetime Membership which involves a significant one-time donation and grants membership privileges for life. The specific details for each membership level are outlined below. All memberships are good for 1 year from the date in which you sign up.

Membership contributions are the same price for any location anywhere in the world.

Current subscribers to PE Magazine, the CDs of PE, and/or VR Collector's series may choose to have their remainings subscription balances refunded at the time of sign up. The amount refunded will be determined by the Profane Existence staff based on the cash value of outstanding materials. This refund offer is only available for those paying for a full year's membership.

If you select an installment payment plan, your credit/debit card will be charged the appropriate amount for the subsequent 11 months following your initial sign up. Cards will be charged between the 12th-15th of the month (whichever is the first weekday). Paypal users will receive a payment reminder around the 10th of each month, with payment due on the 15th. Memberships expire at the end of the month following your 12th payment. If you do not renew your membership during the final month, all discounts and priviliges will expire with your membership. Failure to keep up with monthly payments may result in termination of membership benefits.

Within 2-4 weeks of signing up you will be sent an personalized "Anarchy Card" in the mail along with your membership number. You will need to bring your Anarchy Card to receive special discounts at selected Profane Existence events or in person at PE tabled events in your area. Possession of the anarchy card does not grant you immunity from state and local laws and/or regularions and we don't recommend you carry it across international borders or present it as identification before boarding an airplane. Anarchy Cards remain the property of Profane Existence and may be revoked for failure to pay membership dues. So there!

Profane Existence is not currently a legally registered NON-PROFIT organization and your membership is not tex-deductable. We will work on changing our legal status as time permits.

Memberships are NON-REFUNDABLE. No you can't have your money back if you band gets a bad review!
